A sculpture is not a static object, it is a conversation with its environment

Visualisation : Defining the Dialogue between Sculpture & Space

Integrated into the commissioning process is a bespoke visualisation service, which helps us bridge the gap between the conceptual and the physical. By utilising high resolution 3D scans of each sculpture, we can witness the precise interplay of form, light and material within your unique architecture or landscape before the work ever leaves the studio.

To begin the conversation, all we require are high resolution images of your intended location. This simple starting point allows us to build a digital twin of your environment. From there, we provide a suite of bespoke visualisations that allow you to curate the space in real time.

We don't just place a static image, we simulate the kinetic relationship between the sculpture and its home. You can witness how a mirror polished finish pulls the colours of your garden into the form or how a deep bronze patina anchors a minimalist interior. By adjusting scale and orientation digitally, we ensure the work commands the right presence, neither overpowering the space nor being lost within it.

Our visualisation service extends far beyond basic placement. Utilising high fidelity rendering and physics based lighting, we can simulate the sculpture’s lifecycle within your site.

Scale calibration, we adjust the height and volume of the sculpture to ensure it sits in perfect proportion to your trees, walls or ceiling heights.

Surface and colour explorations, weathered corten steel, traditional bronze or complex patina finishes to find the perfect tonal match.

Illumination design, we can model integrated lighting structures, showing you exactly how the sculpture will be spotlighted at night to create a dramatic focal point.

Environmental simulation, we can simulate the nature of light at different times of the day and year and imitate different weather conditions and seasons, showing how the sculpture holds its presence through winter frost or summer sun.

A Bespoke Vision for Your Location

RHS Chelsea Flower Show garden 2022

In 2022, Jack was commissioned by Richard Miers to produce a bespoke sculpture for his RHS Chelsea Flower Show garden, the garden was a grand masterpiece that went on to win a Silver Gilt and the prestigious People’s Choice Award.

Although the sculpture was a single element within a complex composition, we utilised a rigorous digital process to "stress test" its presence long before it reached the garden.

We developed 3D digital models of both the garden’s architecture and the sculpture, this enabled Richard to look at the sightlines and ensure the sculpture would have a structural and aesthetic fit . Alongside a wide range of static visualisations, we produced cinematic walkthroughs, to visit the design virtually, exploring the sculpture’s impact from different perspectives.

By creating a digital twin of the environment, we move beyond estimation. Pairing this alongside the latest rendering and physics simulation, we can explore the impact of different times of the day, light levels, reflection of surface, etc.

Making the chosen sculpture in clay, which is then digitally scanned. The 3D model is then used to present visualisations of sculpture in it final environment.

A 3D digital sculpture in the shape of a twisting, interconnected ribbon with a wireframe overlay and glowing purple highlights, positioned in front of a mirror reflecting a computer screen with a colorful 3D bunny model that is being worked on in a 3D modeling program.
An abstract sculpture made of rusted metal with twisting, flowing shapes, mounted on a beige pedestal against a green hedge background.

The final sculpture, a collaboration evolved out of the process. Richard immediately christened it “Dancers”, reflection on its fluid movement and joyous aesthetic. It always felt in harmony with Richard’s masterpiece garden Perennial “With Love”.

The Architecture of Scale

While the soul of our work is rooted in ancient tradition, our methodology is decidedly futuristic. By utilizing advanced 3D visual reconstruction, we treat scale as a variable rather than a constraint. This digital precision allows us to transcend the traditional boundaries of the foundry, ensuring a single form can inhabit vastly different environments, from the intimate to the monumental, with equal authority.

Moving from a handheld maquette to a public landmark is a process of re-engineering, not just enlargement. Through high-fidelity 3D reconstruction, we don't simply "scale up." We mathematically refine the curves, volumes, and weight of a piece to ensure it maintains its visual tension, whether it is standing three feet tall in a private gallery or thirty feet tall against a coastal horizon.

Digital mastery allows us to "test" the sculpture in various physicality's before making even begins. We can analyse how a form translates from the warmth of bronze to the industrial edge of stainless steel. This flexibility ensures that as the scale changes, the material choice remains perfectly aligned with the sculpture's new environment and purpose.

Because we possess the digital "DNA" of each form, we offer a collaborative fluidity rarely found in traditional sculpture. We can provide architects and designers with precise CAD data to integrate directly into their plans, ensuring that the dialogue between the sculpture and its surrounding architecture is established long before the piece arrives on site.
