From my artists studio based in the heart of rural North Norfolk, I offer a bespoke commission process based upon my comprehensive collection of unique hand crafted bronze sculptures. Every work illustrated on my website has been designed over a period of 30 years and represents a retrospection of the many different styles and directions that I have explored over this time.
Each piece is available as a reference or starting point, which can be evolved to any scale and finished with a wide range of surfaces and patinas. Understanding that commissioning a unique sculpture is to entrust an artist with the conception and manufacture of a bespoke three dimensional artwork, this can be secured by a formal agreement that balances creative freedom, historical weight and practical mechanics ensuring that both patron and artist navigate the process smoothly and arrive at a work that endures.
Attention to detail in both design and creation, alongside using high quality bronze alloys and the finest craftsmanship, results in beautiful, authentic and enduring works. Every piece is made using tried and tested traditional handwork, evolved over many years of making sculpture. This experience means that I am able to draw on a wealth of practice and knowledge in both design and manufacture. I place particular emphasis on both provenance and authorship with every work referenced with a number, date and authenticated with my inscribed signature.
Inspiration often comes from the unexceptional, a small piece of driftwood that has been shaped and polished by the grinding motion of the sea, bleached of colour by exposure to the corrosive salt and baking sun.
The solitude of making is where I find a stability, a feeling of certainty, a place to thrive and grow. I have always for as long as I can remember had a constant desire to create.
