Transformative power that art has on people’s lives.

My journey as a sculptor has been one of continuous evolution, fuelled by a lifelong fascination with form, texture and the unspoken language that art conveys. This enduring passion inspired me to pursue studies in ceramics and fine art sculpture, where I gained a comprehensive and deep understanding of various materials and artistic techniques. Over time, I transitioned into the field of education, dedicating more than 20 years to teaching and mentoring students of diverse ages and abilities. This rewarding experience has profoundly shaped my appreciation for the transformative power that art holds in people’s lives.

I established a commercial fine art foundry, a significant venture that ultimately became a cornerstone of my professional career. At the foundry, I provided expert services to a diverse range of artists while continuously honing and refining my skills in bronze casting and fabrication techniques. Collaborating on numerous large scale public and private commissions allowed me to master not only the technical but also the practical aspects of creating durable and enduring sculptures. This period was marked by intricate problem solving, close collaboration with architects and engineers and the rewarding challenge of bringing ambitious, visionary projects to life.

Throughout my extensive professional journey, I have consistently sustained a deeply personal and evolving artistic practice that spans more than 35 years. My studio has long served as a sanctuary for thoughtful experimentation and quiet reflection, a dedicated space where I have developed numerous works that remained unseen and unexhibited until very recently. Drawing rich inspiration from the surrounding environment, my work thoughtfully reflects my ongoing personal exploration of the complex intersection between nature, emotion and form.

My sculptures thoughtfully explore themes of imperfection, transition and emotional resonance. Often inspired by the organic shapes and raw textures found in natural forms, as well as the visceral experiences of isolated environments such as the rugged, windswept East Coast beaches of the UK where I live and work. I endeavour to capture the subtle beauty that exists within moments of change. Whether these transitions occur between physical states, shifting environments or evolving emotional landscapes, my work seeks to reveal the profound significance embedded in these ephemeral moments. The torn, weathered edges of my sculptures serve as a deliberate reflection of my ongoing fascination with the relentless passage of time and the complex layers of meaning that emerge through continuous states of flux and transformation.

Through a combination of thoughtful commissions and deeply personal projects, my sculptures have found meaningful homes across the globe, establishing connections with people through the universal language of form, emotion and shared experience. My goal is to create sculptures that not only resonate visually but also inspire a profound sense of connection and thoughtful reflection, offering each viewer a quiet space to discover their own unique interpretations and layered meanings. I continually strive to produce work that challenges conventional perceptions, honouring the beauty of transition and difference, and capturing the intangible essence of our shared humanity in a way that is both timeless and evocative.
